Here we have an immensely fun and capable Match Target .22lr Colt Woodsman, sn049952S built in 1973, that is in beautiful factory original condition with over 96% condition, showing just a bit of wear on the left side of the muzzle and the backstrap of the grip. These are beautiful, weighty, well-balanced target pistols that are supremely accurate and capable of competing with some of the best production pistols ever made. The 1973 was a prime time for Colt when they had returned to the famous “high-polish Colt Blue” and this pistol shows why it was so popular and not to be duplicated by other makers or even Colt in the down slide years. Not only are these handguns very collectible and good investment vehicles, they are affordable to own and shoot. This gun has enough finish remaining that it is a highly desirable collectible, but also has been shot enough that you can shoot it without lowering its value. Colt Manufacturing no longer makes any kind of .22 rimfire pistol, and as we know, when something with the Colt name on it is no longer in production, the values tend to increase.
