Description:
Here is a Winchester 1894 Carbine that is a high art master work. Fully engraved with gold animals, scroll and gold line. Stocked in highly figured walnut with skip line checkering and fleur-de-lis borders. Basketweave presentation recoil pad. The engraving features an appropriate western theme with a mountain lion in gold on the loading port side and a bounding deer in forest on the opposing side. Both animals are surrounded by a gold line border. Heavy full coverage scroll on the receiver, top tang and portions of the barrel. Receiver engraving is framed again by gold line.The hammer is fully engraved, even of portions that are not visible during operation. I could not find an engravers name or initials anywhere, even under the stock. Perhaps I missed it. Non engraved areas of the metal are highly polished. The caliber is the iconic Winchester 30-30, perhaps the most famous deer cartridge in history. The serial number indicates a 1959 manufacture date. C&R accepted. Barrel is 20". Weight of the gun is 7 LBS 2 3/8 OZ. LOP is 13 7/8".
This work of art would be the Centerpiece of any fine gun collection. It is being offered at a fraction of the current cost of replication.
