Description:
According to the serial number (1022912), this pistol was part of the 1943 production delivered to the U.S. Government during World War II. The fact that it was delivered fairly early in the war would suggest that it definately saw service. The pistol retains approximately 85% of its original parkerized finish. The majority of the wear is on the high edges of the slide and frame which is primarily caused by holster wear. The bore is bright with strong rifling, but shows some light frosting in the grooves. The barrel is marked HS (High Standard) which is proper for a Remington Rand. All of the small parts including the magazine and grips are period correct and matches the finish of the slide and frame. This is a nice representative example of a WWII 1911A1 that was "used but not abused".
