Description:
S&W 38/44 Heavy Duty Prewar. Chambered for .38 Special, although its original purpose was to handle .38 Super Police round (a predecessor the .357 magnum) these Heavy Duty revolvers were so named because they were built on the 5-screw N frame platforms. Standard 5” non-ribbed round barrel and with original diamond medallion grips. Very tight, mechanically perfect and retaining 95-97% original bright blue finishes. Built in 1934, so it is roughly 85 years old!
