Description:
Remington-Smoot early production New Model No. 1, serial # 624 of approximately 3,000 made. Two types of the New Model No. 1 were made. The first 600 or so had a revolving recoil shield. This is one of the first produced with the recoil shield attached to the frame. This design followed into the later Model No. 2. Perfect working condition, crisp markings and lock up. Made from 1875-1877. Serial # 624 Nickel plated with original hard rubber grips. Has the early "E. REMINGTON & SONS..." barrel markings. Octagon barrel integral with the frame. As the pictures show, this pistol is in extraordinary condition. Nickel is original with handling Mark's. minor scratches and slight wear on grips.
