Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are sure proud to offer this hard to find high grade double by WC Scott. Very well appointed, it is both practical and beautiful. The fit of the highly figured and finely checkered walnut is impeccable, and the wonderful engraving is the perfect compliment to the furniture. Made in the year of our Lord 1898, she is in very good condition for being 121 years old and ships direct to your door. The complex Damascus barrels are nicely browned, with a strong pattern showing in most areas. The bores of the 30 inch tubes are bright, choked light full and improved cylinder. The double lug barrel is built for heavy duty shooting. This gun is absolutely tight on face and the lever is well to the right of center. The square crossbolt is a variation of Greener's, and is dubbed the Scott improved bolt. Another nicety is the presence of the patented crystal indicators. The internal hammers are visible when cocked, then drop out of sight when fired. The highly detailed engraving is amazing, and each of the blue rock pigeons is nigh bulino with many fine lines defining the bird. There are generous amounts of color case on the receiver, and the belly is superb. Small details of craftsmanship, such as the well fitted and ornate forend release lever, really make this double special. The safety is automatic, and extractors hoist the empties. The stock is original length with a butt plate to extend the LOP. The length of pull is 14 1/8 inches to the checkered wood butt plate, with drops of 1 5/8 and 2 5/8 inches. She weighs in at about 7 pounds even. Not bad for a full sized 12 bore. With a pocket full of RST loads, this side by side could still put meat on the table. If you have been looking for the right Scott to collect, shoot, or for investment, then look no further.
