Description:
This is a very attractive revolver. It has a five-shot, half-fluted cylinder chambered for .36 caliber and has the desireable 6.5 inch round barrel with an excellent bore. The frame, hammer and loading lever are case colored; the barrel and cylinder, are blued. The grip frame is silver plated brass; and the unitary, one piece grips are varnished walnut. The barrel is stamped "ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA". The frame has "COLT'S/PATENT on the left side. One of the cylinder flutes is marked "PAT. SEPT. 10 1850". The condition of this fine revolver very good to excellent and retains approx. 60 to 70% of it's original finish. I have included 20 pictures to demonstrate the condition. Serial number is #9738, manufactured in 1862, during the Civil War.This is a classic, wartime production, Colt Model 1862 Police revolver in very desirable condition.
