Description:
This is a nice example of a Model 1891 Argentine Mauser manufactured by Ludwig Loewe of Berlin in 1893. Caliber is 7.65mm. Everything is original and matching and shows very little use for being over 125 years old; the obvious and glaring exception being the Argentine Crest was unceremoniously removed from the top of the receiver which is normal. All the nice unissued-looking and matching Model 1891 Argentine Rifles appear to have suffered the same fate as this one. Overall, metal is 97% original blue with nitre blue on the trigger, bolt release, and front band spring. The wood has never been touched with all the inspector markings and serial number intact....it does have typical arsenal rack and crate dings. No cracks or chips. Antique, Pre-1898. For the money, these Argentines are some of the nicest and best quality Antiques on the Market today.
