Description:
Serial #G55631, .43 Spanish, 20 1/2" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has light freckling and pinprick pitting in a few spots along its length. This rifle is built on a large No. 1 action and has both Remington company markings on the top tang, and Argentine military markings on the barrel breech: “EN". The metal has an overall plum-brown and gray patina with dark mottling throughout. Traces of the original color case-hardening are still visible on the left side of the frame, however. The original front sight, and an interesting fixed rear sight are present on the barrel. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good condition with minor handling and tool marks under an added military oil finish, and some large initials that have been partially obscured on the right side of the wrist. The action itself is tight and functions flawlessly. This is a very good Argentine Rolling Block, and would make a nice representative example for a collection. Antique
