Description:
Serial #195746, .44 CF, 7 1/2" octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some very mild freckling with the grooves. This is a handsome Richards revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, loading gate, trigger guard, and backstrap. The metal has about 50% of an old, added nickel finish remaining, with the balance flaked to a mottled gray-brown patina where the underlying metal is exposed. Some scattered areas of pinprick pitting are present, and the naval scene is visible, but not too distinct on the cylinder. The trigger guard has pale yellow brass where the silver has flaked, and the period ivory grip has a mellow, caramel-colored patina with dark grain around the butt, and a single small chip at the toe on the right side. The lock-up is tight as a drum and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great looking Richards Army, with genuine period ivory grips, and is in very good-fine overall condition. Antique
