Another Excellent Collector Estate Item. Winchester Model 1894 rifle The (also known as the Winchester 94 or Model 94) is a lever-action repeating rifle that became one of the most famous and popular rifle of all
time. It was designed by John Browning in 1894. And, this rifle was manufactured in 1896, Serial no. 45xxx. In caliber .30 WCF, also known as the .30-30 caliber.
“The Winchester 1894 comes from the era when cowboys still road high in their saddles throughout the West, armed with Colts and Winchesters, drifting with the cattle while real danger still existed from rogue Indians and highway robbers”. Most early 1894 rifles have been used hard even if cared for they will show bluing loss, the wood gets dinged up and scratched from the terrain.
This rifle, S/N: 45785. built in 1896, is a desirable antique Model 1894 in REMARKABLE FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION with strong, 75% barrel bluing, no flaking and a nice finish remaining on the wood. The screws are all original and in great condition. There are no cracks, splits, or repairs to the wood.
And, all the lettering and stamps are clear. This 123 - year old Winchester Model 1894 is in nice original condition.
In .30-30 caliber that is the most popular hunting rifle produced with full 26” octagon barrel and with full magazine bring a premium over rifles built after 1900 with the more common round barrel.
This rifle is in good mechanical condition with a strong action and little mechanical wear. Bore has strong rifling with no heavy pitting or altered in any way. Weight 7 ¾ lbs.
