Description:
Marlin Model 1881 Rifle in .40-60 caliber. SN #14870. Mfg. in 1886. 28" octagon barrel. 13 1/4" LOP. Bore is good. Slight frosting, light pitting, strong rifling. Metal is good to very good for age. Receiver has turned a brown patina while the barrel still retains a good amount of it's original blue. Wood is in good condition, with just a slight undercut at the bottom of the steel buttplate. Top eject. Full tube magazine. Tapped for tang sight. Double set trigger of which only 2929 were mfg. This is an antique and requires no FFL to purchase.
