Description:
A small knife bayonet for use with the M1956 submachine gun made by Zastava and chambered in 7.62×25mm Tokarev. The gun was a clone of the German 9mm MP40, but fired the more powerful 7.62x25 Tokarev round.
The unsharpened, painted black, like-new blade is double-edged. The grips are made of black molded plastic.
There are markings ALL OVER the bayonet, as follows:
Left grip scale: 36-190-2
Right grip scale: 36-190-3
Left side ricasso: K in circle, serial number 88603
Right side ricasso: 36-189-6
Pommel: K in circle
Crosspiece: K and other tiny illegible marks
The scabbard is marked 36-191-3.
The excellent military issue brown leather belt frog is specifically made to accept the flat tab of the scabbard. The leather is stamped S-36-191-9 and BK in circle inside the stitched triangle which I understand stands for Vojna Kontrola (Military Control).
