Description:
This is a Colt Model 1883 Hammerless Double Barrel 12 gauge shotgun. It is a Grade 1½ and has a 28” beautiful Damascus barrel retaining 70% barrel brown. The nicely engraved receiver still retains 45% case colors. The mechanical function is excellent, crisp and tight with beautiful bright and shiny bores. The beautiful upgraded wood retains 85-90 varnish and the checkering is sharp and crisp. The Colt Factory letter says it was shipped to George H. Day and on the Gold monogram on the bottom of the trigger guard is W.B. Day, probably a gift to the father or son. The serial number is 7976 and was shipped December 20, 1897.
I have obtained all the information from Ancestry. The father George H. Day, bought the shotgun for his son Watson Beach Day who was born in 1903. All of the information is available on 15 pages including Watson B. Day’s WW 1 Draft Registration Card and will include along with the Colt Factory Letter.

I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE? Ask about our 30-90 day lay-away program. We accept Bank Check, Money order, Personal checks or wire transfer.
