Genuine Fabrique Nationale Herstal Preban FN FAL 50.63 paratrooper model, made in Belgium. Chambered in 7.62MM NATO (.308). The Model 50.63 featured a folding stock, stationary rear aperture sight and 18" barrel. This model has always been the most popular of the FAL offerings with collectors and was used widely by Special Forces and Airborne units during the Rhodesian Bush War, which only adds to its charm. This rifle is in excellent condition, and shows little evidence of use or wear. Based on the serial number, this is one of 1375 Paratrooper models produced in 1981 and exported to GunSouth/Howco, (serial number range S1595840-S1597214). A rare variation, that we rarely see come up for sale.
