Description:
DWM 1908 Commercial Luger chambered in 9mm. The 1908 Commercial was manufactured between 1908 and 1914 for civilian sales and for export. Approximately 9000 of these were manufactured and most were produced without a hold-open device or stock lug. This pistol was sold domestically in Germany, captured by Pfc. Paul R. Downing during WW2, and issued capture papers on February 22, 1946 to bring back to the States. The original capture document verifying its provenance will be included in the sale. This all-matching Luger is in excellent original condition retaining approximately 96+% of its original blue finish, showing just some minor high edge wear. The original grips fit well, are free of dents and cracks, and have sharp checkering. The straw colors of the take down lever, trigger, and safety show some thinning, but overall this is a very nice example of it's type. The pistol is in perfect working order, with one original wood-bottom un-numbered magazine (correct for commercial Luger), and an excellent bore. As with all of our Lugers, we guarantee this pistol is 100% as advertised. A high-condition and uncommon Luger variation with WW2 capture papers.
