This beautiful and super clean Winchester Model 9422M XTR .22 Magnum rifle is an excellent example of it's type. Manufactured in 1980, it has obviously lived a very easy life and has been used VERY little if at all. This Winchester 9422M XTR lever-action repeater features a gloss blue factory finish, a 20.5" inch round barrel with iron sights, a 11-shot tubular magazine mounted under the barrel, and a straight grip Walnut stock set with a checkered forearm and wrist. The factory gloss blue finish on this rifle is bright and beautiful, and rates 98 to 99%. Aside from 3 very tiny spots of prior surface rust the gun appears to be flawless and shows no finish wear or scratches/dings. There is 1 spot on the right side of the lower lever loop, and 2 spots about 5 inches from the muzzle on the right side of the barrel and magazine tube. As you can see from the pictures, these are extremely small and do not detract much at all from the pristine and clean look of this rifle. If the new owner so chooses, he/she could hide these with a tiny bit of cold blue. The bore in this rifle is pristine. It is mirror-bright and free from any pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections. The rifling still looks factory-new with sharp lands and grooves. The original factory checkered Walnut stock set is in excellent condition. Both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, chips, gouges, or repairs. The checkered panels are still clean and crisp, and the factory-applied gloss finish is fully intact and shiny. The buttstock is fitted with the original Winchester Repeating Arms-branded buttplate which is also in excellent condition. It was perfectly factory-fit to the stock and is still nice and tight to the wood. Everything on this Winchester works 100% like the day it left the factory. The internals on this rifle are as clean as the exterior. The action is smooth but still tight when worked by hand, and it goes into battery perfectly. The trigger breaks with a nice light pull with no slop or grit. If you have been looking for a collector-grade 9422M XTR for your collection this example would be a superb choice. These rimfire Winchester's have proven to be excellent investments and should continue to be sought-after, and the .22 Magnum models like this one are much scarcer than the .22 LR models.
