Based on a John Browning design with loading through the stock and bottom ejection the Model 24 is one of the earliest and most successful automatic 22 rimfire rifles aver made. These are nearly impossible to find in this condition. Most of them were used in shooting gallery booths at carnivals. For that reason Model 24 22 short only guns normally bring a premium. They are excellent plinking guns and will shoot forever. The only defect is some light cleaning on the top forward end of the receiver (see photo #7). This Model 24 is in 95+% condition, fitted with a Lyman peep sight, and the original stock finish very lightly over coated. Even the butt plate is near perfect. The deep blue/black finish on these guns of a very high quality. It would be very difficult to find another one in this condition.
