Description:
Argentine Short Sword or Machete made in Germany. Massive 15" blade unfullered jungle machete. Serial number B0 4914 marked on both the right side of the crossguard and scabbard. Right side of ricasso marked "MODELO ARGENTINO 1909" around the Argentine crest. Left side of ricasso marked WEYERSBERG over KIRSCHBAUM & CIE over SOLINGEN. There is a proof or inspector's mark A on the spine of the blade near the crossguard. Crossguard facing the blade marked Cx on side facing the blade, and Px on the left side. The pommel is marked RA in circle. Wood grips, affixed with two rivets, are in excellent-plus condition, as is the entire item.
Excellent-plus matching blued metal scabbard with an oval frog stud. A large D on the reverse side of the scabbard, next to the throat piece securing screw.
