Description:
If you have been looking for an M1 Carbine to add to your collection as an investment and a shooter this Inland would be perfect.  It is a nice representative piece that has all the military history you could ask for without costing thousands of dollars.  This Inland M1 Carbine was manufactured in late 1943 in Inland's 2nd production block for use in World War 2.  It most likely saw a lot of combat given the '43 production date and that fact that it was rebuilt for the Korean War.  The U.S. Arsenal system would not have rebuilt it so extensively had it been a weapon that was issued to a rear-echelon guy that didn't get used and was in good condition.  While there is no way to know for sure, we do know that when it went to Mt. Ranier Ordnance Depot and was reworked for Korera almost every part was replaced on the gun.  It was given a new Rock-Ola barrel, a SG (Saginaw) trigger group with late variation Inland hammer, safety and mag catch, an Underwood round bolt & Underwood operating handle, and all the normal updated parts including the rear sight, type 3 barrel band, and spring guide.  This carbine also was placed in a new stock which was originally meant for a S'G' (S-prime G-prime Saginaw) gun marked in the slingwell "L-A", and was stamped with the rework stamp "M.R." for Mt. Ranier.  The upper handguard was replaced with an unmarked part.  After being rebuilt this M1 Carbine would have went on to serve during the Korean War and at some point afterwards it ended up on the civilian market, either taken home by the soldier who carried it or thru a CMP sale.  This M1 Carbine shows a nice original military parkerized finish and an excellent bright bore.  The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves and there is no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections.  The stock set is solid and just shows minor handling/storage marks.  Both the handguard and stock are free from any cracks, repairs, or major damage.  This Inland comes with an original U.S.G.I. oiler and Korean War period sling, and is in excellent mechanical condition.  All of the controls on this M1 Carbine are in perfect working order, and the bolt goes into battery smoothly and with authority.  It comes with one original 15-round "U" marked (Underwood) magazine.  This "War Baby" Inland would be a blast to both display and shoot.
