*** SOLD *** REDUCED *** Sturdy Sauer Knock About model that was imported by von Lengerke & Detmold before they commissioned Francotte to make this model for them. This sidelock has seen some hunting but is still ready for more. Built like a tank it has 30” Krupp Steel barrels, double triggers, and dished strikers. Weight is 7lb 6oz. Serial number 87935. *** The 30” Krupp Steel barrels have extractors and are chambered for 2-1/2” cartridges. The bores are shiny but the outer bluing shows finish wear. The left barrel is inscribed “The Knock About Gun” and the right is inscribed “von Lengerke & Detmold New York”. Both barrels are inscribed “Krupp Steel Germany” at the breech end. The raised solid cross hatched rib has front and middle beads. The right barrel is bored 0.731 and has a constriction of 0.028 for Improved Modified choke. The left barrel is bored 0.730 with a constriction of 0.033 for Full choke. *** The buttstock has a swept back pistol grip and splinter forearm. The forearm has a Deeley release and a slight Schnabel at the tip. The wood is nicely figured and a little elbow grease would make the figure really stand out. It is a bit short and the new owner may want to add an extension or thicker pad. It is often better to have a short stock when wearing heavy thick cold weather clothing. The stock dimensions are 14” over a 1-1/4” pad by 1-5/16” by 1-13/16” making is a great gun for rising birds like pheasants and trap. RST makes some low pressure loads that will really knock a wild pheasant down. Would also make a suitable a waterfowl gun using Bismuth shot. *** I am an FFL and will need a signed copy of your dealer’s FFL.
