Description:
SOLD!!! This Dakota short action rifle was restocked by Don Allen (and so documented) after the initial factory stock was rejected by the owner. Although it is not as dramatic as the original stock blank, this one is gorgeous in itself. It is now perfectly bedded and shoots accordingly.
The serial number (0035) makes it the first short action Dakota made. It is chambered in .22-250 Remington with a 23" barrel (22 1/4" exposed). It carries a shadow-line cheekpiece with Don's traditional sharp crease line up the comb nose and along the top of the comb. The 24 l.p.i. checkering pattern wraps over the top of the grip and clear around the forend. The bolt knob is also checkered appropriately. Note the precisely inletted skeleton grip cap and Neidner checkered steel butt plate. Don also included the English round knob sling swivel bases on this rifle.
This rifle was originally purchased on April 24, 1989, and comes directly from the collection of the original purchaser. The package includes all of the original correspondence between the original purchaser and Don Allen.
