Description:
SOLD! Here is a Winchester pre-64 M70 in 7mm Remington Magnum. The original action was rebarreled by King's Gunworks with a Sam May Apex "Imperial" 24" (23 1/4" exposed) barrel with a 1-9 twist. The stock was made by Dean Wentworth from a fine piece of California English walnut with rich smokey streaks and fiddle-back figure from one the butt to the forend. Dean was the stockmaking instructor at the Colorado School of Trades for many years. He checkered it 24 lpi with a ribbon point pattern. The grip is capped with a Neidner-style checkered steel cap and the butt has a Neidner-style checkered steel plate. The forend is capped off with an ebony tip. the metal is rust blued. The original M70 action was manufactured in June, 1960, and was originally barreled as a .264 Winchester Magnum so the new 7mm Magnum cartridge feeds perfectly.
