As new Colt SAA 2nd generation. 5 1/2" bbl. .357 MAG. New condition. No box. Colt Letter. 1962 gun. The letter doesn't mention engraving. Bill Mains was a Colt contract engraver prior to working for company from 1967-1972. Bill engraved many Colts as contract engraver and in house engraver. Colts policy was, engravers could not sign work. Bill was not comfortable with this and developed a stamp of a buffalo and stamped all his work with it. This gun is beautifully "A" engraved and bears that buffalo stamp. Although 1st generations are most collectible, there are 350k of them, 2nd are rarer. With only roughly 80k produced from 1956-1974. The value of seconds will be recognized by the collector and investor at some point. This is investment quality.
