Here is a solid old 1873 that a previous owner tried to improve upon. Sometime back it was cleaned and is now regaining a patina. Action seems to work good and bore is probably a 6 or 7. Wood is solid with no cracks or big gouges and fits well. The serial number is not readable- it looks like 264... to me but the cleaning obscured it. Barrel address and caliber are clear. Sights appear to be original Winchester sight and original to the gun. The dust cover is a replacement and could stand some conditioning by the new owner to make it look closer to the gun's age. It does not slide backward when you open the lever; it has to be pushed back manually. I suspect a person handier than me could fix this. I'm betting this would qualify as an antique but can't be sure so an ffl or C&R are needed for shipping. $50 shipping and insurance via priority mail.
It's not a museum piece but it's an original, probably will shoot well, and is a low-priced 1873 Winchester.
