Description:
For sale is one of the great rarities in Parker shotgun collecting.  One of only two made in this configuration, the gun has incredible provenance - having been ordered originally by famous Parker shooter, R.A. Welch.  The gun has also been chosen as a "People's Choice" gun at the Parker Gun Collectors Association annual meeting several years back.  The gun itself is a B Grade hammer gun, 12ga gun with 32" Titanic barrels.  Made on a #2 frame with 2-7/8" chambers (confirmed on the original order), the gun has a track record of incredible success being used by R.A. Welch to win many competitive shoots in the 1890's and beyond and most recently by a PGCA member to win the Southern Side by Side Championships several years back.  Made with a splinter forend, straight grip buttstock, the stocks are original and have fabulous figure.  The LOP is 14-1/4" over a red pad and two 1/4" black spacers.  The barrels are in excellent condition, and retain nearly all of an expert restored blue, engraving is crisp, ribs ring true, and barrel legend is perfect.  The action is fabulously engraved in B Grade pattern with dogs and birds on sides, surrounded by well executed Parker scroll.  Bottom of the action has a large bull elk in a circle with birds and scroll engraved.  The overall condition of the gun is superb, as restored long ago.  The action retains about 90% of the case colors, barrels retain about 95% of the restored blue.  Stocks are superb and retain nearly all of their expert restored finishes.  The gun weighs 7lbs 14oz.  DAC is 1-3/8" and DAH is 2".  The barrels both measure .737 with .033 choke in both tubes.  Min. wall thickness is .023(left) and .025(right).  Mechanics are perfect and the gun is on face.  I have included a photo of the original order book page for this gun in the photos.

This is an incredibly rare gun with superb provenance.  If you have been looking for a desireable and shootable steel barreled Parker, you know that these guns are impossible to source.  Priced at $23,500 plus shipping.  Please dont hesitate to contact me on this or at (704) 280-2382 with any questions on this superb Parker.
