"U.S. Militia Officers Sword. Circa 1840’s. Blade is approximately 30" with a floral motif and a Federal Eagle in center. Opposite side of blade has a panopoly of arms in center. Approximately 37" overall length. Helmet head pommel with ivory grips. Knuckle guard is two chains connected from pommel to quillion. Ricasso is marked Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. Scabbard is very good with no dents or dings. An affordable piece of American history.
