Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a very nice World War 2 production Remington Model 1903. It appears to have gone back to Ogden Arsenal for one "rebuild" in which several small parts were changed, with the original finish and vast majority of the factory parts left untouched. This Model 1903 was built in 1943 at Remington during the transition to the Model 1903A3. This example is serial number 3,146,310 and still has the original 6/42 dated Remington barrel it originally left the factory with. The finish on all of the metal parts is 100% original and is a correct mix of blued and parkerized parts. The parkerizing has got a beautiful period green hue to it, and as you can see in the pictures appears nice and even. The bore is very good in this rifle with strong rifling with just a touch of frosting in the grooves. We gauged the barrel and the throat measures a "2" and the muzzle is a "1", indicating that this Remington 1903 has been fired VERY little. The original Walnut stock is very attractive and appears to be in excellent condition. It has been lightly sanded (likely at Ogden) which has obscured the little Remington inspection proof stamps in front of the triggerguard. You can still see shadows of where they were originally. The stock is free from cracks, chips, or repairs, and has been stamped with the boxed "O.G" rework stamp on the left side behind the wrist. Everything on this 1903 works 100% like the day it left the factory and it comes with an original U.S.sling. If you have been looking for one of these transitional period 1903's for your collection it would be hard to find a more attractive example than this one!
