On Hold / Pending Funds / British SMLE Mk. III* Bolt Action Rifle, by ENFIELD, serial # R 1734, cal. 303 British, with a 25” barrel and a very good bore showing some frosting and oxidation in the grooves but strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this 1916-dated rifle are 80%+ blue. The walnut stocks and handguard remain in about good overall condition showing light dings, dents, bruises and scratches attributed to a fielded weapon. The stock disc cutout is blank. The rifle serial number, bolt and rear sight all have matching numbers. Included with the rifle is a ten round original unnumbered magazine. The overall condition of this salty Enfield is good plus plus - very good. (C&R) Inv.: # 2-1744
