Description:
General Specs: Browning, Year 1965, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 6oz, Chokes IC/M, LOP 14", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 9/16"
Serial Number: 37322 S5

This is the venerable Browning Superposed Lightning Model in Grade 1 with hard to find IC/M field chokes.  Most of these guns are found with skeet chokes and are less desirable.  As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1966.  This Superposed, Sn37322 S5 was built in 1965.  Browning lovers are known to place high importance on the wood figure on the stocks, as do most gun people.  LOOK AT THE FIGURE IN THIS WOOD.  IT IS OUTSTANDING FOR A GRADE 1 BROWNING.  The Lightning Model was considerably lighter than the Standard model, making it a superb upland bird gun for carrying long distance and long hours.  This gun is all factory original and is in superb condition with over 98% of its metal and wood finishes, excellent mechanics, barrels tight on hinge pin and breech face like a new gun, mirror bores, most of the gold still on the trigger, perfect checkering…this gun has not been used much.  WE PROPER VINTAGE BROWNING CASES IN STOCK.  If you need or want a case, ask and we can sell you a proper case for the gun.  Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because Browning used salt to speed up the drying process of their stock wood.  Not all guns were affected, but the market place still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs, and some even with square knob pistol grips.  This is a great upland gun that is balanced dead on the hinge pin and at 7lbs. 6oz., light enough to carry all day afield.  The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value.  Thanks for looking!
