Description:
This is a very nice example of an Old Model Blackhawk made by Ruger in 1971. It is in great shape overall, has not been back to Ruger for the hammer transfer bar upgrade, and is 100% original except for the faux Pearl grips. The original factory blue finish rates 96%, with the deductions coming from some minor finish wear on the left side of the muzzle and some of the high edges on the top strap, a faint drag line around the cylinder, and some minor scattered handling marks. As you can see from the pictures provided, despite these minor deductions the Blackhawk has a nice clean look to it. The bore in the 6.5" inch barrel is excellent. There is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible. The rifling still looks new with sharp lands and grooves. The cylinder bores are also bright and clean with no imperfections. The faux peral grips are nicely fit and in great shape with no cracks, wear, or damage. The action on this Ruger is perfectly "in time" and smooth. It locks up perfectly and the trigger is exceptional, breaking with a light pull with no grit or slop. If you have been looking for a nice Old Model Blackhawk for your collection this example would be a very nice addition. We don't run into these Old Model guns too often that are this clean.
