This vintage Sako Deluxe AV Model rifle in .375 H&H Magnum is in spectacular original condition. This rifle was made by the famous Sako firm in Finland and imported into the United States by the Stoeger company. This "AV" action Deluxe rifle features a beautiful high gloss polished blue factory finish, a 23" inch barrel with no iron sights, an engraved floorplate and triggerguard, a high grade Monte Carlo stock with a gloss factory finish and a contrasting pistol grip cap and forend, and factory installed sling swivel studs and a recoil pad. This was Sako's ultimate rifle, a showpiece of fine materials and craftsmanship that was guaranteed to perform as good as it looks. This example is serial number 602921 and is chambered in the famous .375 H&H Magnum caliber, a cartridge capable of taking any big game on the continent as well as many of the dangerous game species around the world and in Africa. This rifle is in minty, like-new condition and could pass as being unfired. The original blue finish is spectacular and rates 99%+ with no blemished or wear. The bore is pristine and bright with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and zero pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections. The stock is also in like-new condition and is beautiful, with no visible wear and only one tiny ding visible only under very close inspection. All of the controls on this rifle work 100% like the day it left the factory. The action on this rifle is buttery smooth and precise, with no slop or grittiness. The bolt goes into battery perfectly and the trigger is superb, breaking like a glass rod with light pressure. The AV action receiver is machined with Sako's famous integral scope bases which show no signs of ever having rings installed on them. These integral bases are unique in that the recoil of the rifle actually tightens the bases more onto the rifle, ensuring a perfect "zero" and positive retention of the optics. This rifle is truly a work of functional art. If you have been looking for a top-quality collector-grade rifle for your collection this Deluxe Sako would be an excellent choice. These rifles continue to appreciate each year and this example in this scarce chambering has to be one of the finest in existence of it's kind.
