Antique COLT “NEW LINE” .22 Rimfire Revolver
Nickel with Etched Panel Barrel!
Here we present an antique Colt New Line .22 Revolver First Model, made in 1876 in Hartford, Connecticut. The New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873. Two years after the Colt House Revolver, a year after the Colt Open Top, and almost simultaneously alongside the Colt Peacemaker, the Colt New Line was one of the first metallic cartridge, rear-loading revolvers manufactured by Colt. It was designed to be a handy pocket-carry revolver, chambered in .22 rimfire, which was very popular for self-defense in these days.
The revolver features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Etched on the left side of the barrel is “COLT NEW 22”. Patent dates are on the bottom of the barrel.
The overall condition is fair. Metal surfaces are dark with age with strong traces of blue and nickel cylinder. Markings are strong. Grips are in very good condition. Bore is in good condition. Hammer spur is chipped. Action is functional but cylinder does not revolve.
