Offered is a very fine example of a Remington Model 1863 contract percussion rifle in .58 caliber better known as a "Zouave Rifle". This rifle is in excellent condition with the majority of it's original finish on metal and wood. There is a small ding on the stock near the butt plate and a couple of other very minor dings. This rifle is rather unusual due to the fact that it has rack numbers stamped on the top of the butt plate. Very few of these rifles were issued so it is rare to see rack numbers stamped on one. SALES TAX OF 4.45% MUST BE CHARGED ON ALL LOUISIANA SALES.
