Description:
Only 2,378 carbines were made in 45-60 WCF. This is one of 3 guns ordered with special sporting sights. Sights include a Freund's rear and a German silver blade front. A rare option. Also has a 22-1/4 inch barrel. A pretty good shiny bore with a light ring about 2-1/2 inches from the muzzle. Gun is generally in very nice condition with traces of blue in the protected areas. The balance has turned a smooth plum/brown color. Hints of case color on the hammer. Good solid wood with a carbine style buttplate. Quite a bit of original varnish remains. Correct dust cover. Crisp tight action. A nice gun and complete with correct saddle ring. Comes with a Factory Letter of Authenticity and some additional research papers. A rare gun indeed!
