Description:
1957 16 ga Savage Fox “Model B”-ST in exceptional high condition; Mfg. at Chicopee Mass, 28” bbls., 2 3/4 chambers, bores .662 both; choke .019 R, .031 L (Mod & Full); Beavertail fore end, full cut checkering in 2 point pattern; nickel-plated non-selective single trigger in rear position, early integral rib (not screwed on like later versions) LOP 13 ¼ to rear trigger, DAC 1 3/8, DAH 2 3/8; Wt. 7lbs. 3.6oz. Wood and metal bear all original finish, 99% case color and blue. There is a repaired crack in the left side of the stock cheek running from the frame back to the rear of the upper tang. I pulled the stock (throughbolt from under the buttplate), and saw that the repair was done with a fine bead of epoxy filling the crack, visible only from the inside. Don’t know who did it, but he was honest enough not to refinish the stock to try and hide the crack on the outside. I have shot doves and clays with this gun, and the crack is fixed and going nowhere, and it points right where it shoots.
