Long time resident of my collection a fully custom 410 double barrel By the Stevens Co marked "Wards Hercules" model 50. I bought this gun from a former LEO in Lewisville Colo in the early 90's. He told me it was a "Graduation Project" by a former student in Trinidad Co's school of gunsmithing. P.O. Ackley was a former instructor there. 26" bbls, clean bores F/F. I've always shot 2 1/2" so don't know if it's a 3" chamber or not. Killed a lot of blue (dusky) grouse here in Wyoming. Flying goose in the oval in each side of the receiver. Hairline crack in forestock was repaired with acraglass years ago (shown) Doesn't stand out. Also small amount of "pinprick" erosion on barrels underneath the wood on the forestock not affecting safety,performance and not visible when assembled. Those are the only two negatives.Pictures tell the rest Lots of CC and engraving. Double ivory beads. truly a one of a kind 410 double done by hand here in the US!
