Description:
Springfield Model of 187 Trapdoor carbine. The serial number of this example is 1166XX placing date of manufacture in 1879. Overall condition is very good with most of the rust blue finish turning a very nice even blue/plum patina. The bore is very good with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The Breech Block is dated 1873. Arsenal updated Buffington rear Sight. Cleaning / Wiping Rod remains in Butt. Very nice untouched Indian Wars Carbine.
