Scarce U.S. Springfield Joslyn Breech-Loading .50-60-450 RF caliber rifle. Only 3,007 of these were made. The Joslyn rifle is considered to be the first breech-loader made at a National Armory. This example is in excellent condition. Lock plate is dated 1864. Wood shows minor handling wear. Barrel is a nice armory bright finish. It is said that these rifles could have been issued to the Union Army before the Civil War Ended. Excellent example of a scarce breech-loader!
