1951 vintage Colt Detective Special fitted with a 2 inch barrel, checkered plastic grips, fixed sights, is blue finished, and chambered in .38 COLT N.P. (.38 S&W). According to a Colt collector there were only a couple of hundred of these Detective Specials manufactured in this caliber, making this gun somewhat rare. It is in very good original condition, retaining 70% of its original blue finish, with most loss due to holster wear. The grips have shrunk some, but are in very fine condition, with minimal wear or handling marks. The bore is bright and the action functions perfectly, with correct timing and tight lock-up.
