Description:
An Abercrombie & Fitch Mauser action rifle in .270 Winchester. The gun is in its Abercrombie & Fitch case and it includes the original purchase invoice and paper shipping box as well. The rifle has a high luster finish, is engraved "Abercrombie & Fitch, Beverly Hills, CA". This was one of the last rifles ever made for A&F before their untimely demise. The gun was made by Dumoulin in Belgium on a Mauser action. Dual crossbolts. Jeweled Bolt. Jeweled Magazine release. EXTREMELY lightweight. Has a long 15" length of pull. Includes a $1300 Leica 2.5x10x50 rifle scope and includes talley quick detach rings and mounts. The rifle had never been fired before I acquired it. (it had no mounts or scope ever installed!) I had the case refitted to accommodate the modern scope and talley rings. I put three shots on paper after bore sighting it but it still needs to have final sight in adjustments. I have the original trigger group but I also installed a timney drop in match trigger set at 3 pounds. This is as nice of a gentleman's stalking rifle as you can as for. Nothing of this quality as-new will you find for anywhere near this price.
Abercrombie & Fitch's Beverley Hills, California location was the last location to bankrupt. This gun was sold in 1982 from old stock of A&F and has a receipt from Ossman's Sporting Goods still attached to the shipping container. The Barrel is high luster and is engraved with Abercrombie's nomenclature and address.
Only wear is the recoil pad has some surface cracking from age. Gun is new old stock in every manner.
The modern optic is a $1300 Leica ER 5 2-10x50 scope.
