We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Shipping insurance is available upon request for an extra fee. We cannot do international sales. As of November 2019, we no longer ship guns to California and Hawaii.

The Official Police was one of the most popular revolvers among law enforcement for decades. It became nearly synonymous with the phrase “police gun” and came to represent police revolvers in general over the many years they were used. They were also used by private guard services, industrial plant guards, and civilian gun owners. In 1930, Colt gained a marketing coupe when they publicized that the Official Police could handle the heavy loads of Smith & Wesson’s new 38-44 round used in their N-frame revolvers – no other S&W revolver could do this as the comparable K-frame revolvers were not up to it. The 38-44 was the predecessor of the now famed 357 Magnum but using the 38 Special case. The Official Police was used by many well-known police departments such as the New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Kansas City Police. Many were also purchased by the Army, which issued them to some of their MPs alongside the S&W M1905/Victory Model. The revolver has little to now wear and the lock-up and timing are excellent. The bore is also in excellent condition. There is some minor wear on the left side grip. According to the Colt , this revolver was produced in 1969 which was the last year that Colt produced the original Official Police revolver. Many Colt revolvers have become more expensive in recent years due to collector interest. While this has not yet affected the more common revolvers like the Official Police, it is likely that someday, they too will increase in value. Do not wait too long to purchase one of these fine revolvers.
