Description:
This was a great build. I've always loved the Ruger #1 rifles, but couldn't deal with the plain wood they're stocked with. This project started out with a NIB Ruger #1 in 450-400. A custom stock was crafted; more slim and British-looking than the Ruger. After reshaping, an Ebony forend tip was added, as well as an inletted rear sling swivel mount, a red Decelerator pad, and nice checkering. The stock was finished in multiple coats or oil.
While built with modern materials and equipment, the rifle and caliber hint of the days when the Farquarsen rifles saw use throughout the British Empire.
