FINE BRITISH FLINTLOCK BBL TRADE PISTOL( Inv #18-9)
Fine British Flintlock Trade Pistol, c. 1770’s 9”, .67 cal. round steel barrel w/ (2) English proofs; marked “Sharpe Extra Proof” with some light engraving at rear of steel bbl., including decorative German silver escutcheon on wrist of stock, round buttcap, sideplate and trigger guard, Metal is very clean with very little corrosion and a silverish patina. Lock is marked “Sharpe”, 15”overall length attractive black walnut stock. In good working order, locks up well. A very nice example probably made for trade, but that could have seen service during the American Revolutionary War. (18-9) $1,400.00
