Description:
Canvas, leather trimmed with brass corners, case for SxS 12g or 20g shotgun. I have had this case for 2 years. Since purchase, I have relined the interior with green wool felt, the exterior edges with dark cordovan leather and made new belts. The case was evidently originally owned by a Lt. Col. L.M. Combe of Kent Hhouse Fleet Hants uH. as this is printed in large whitewash script on the cover (see Px). Handle is good and belt buckes are new brass. There is no label- but remnants of glue in the middle center of the top interior. This would be covered if/when you glue in a new label.
The case will accomodate up to 29 1/2" barrels BUT NOT 30". Comes with extra pieces of felt. AND IT COMES WITH THE ORIGNAL KEY WHICH FITS THE WORKING BRASS LOCK! I can,t use the case any more as I am no longer going to buy any more guns.
