Description:
This is a very cool Remington Model 1903A4 "tribute" rifle asembled by the U.S. Armament company in 2013.  The U.S. Armament Company took original Remington and Smith Corona 1903A3 receivers and original U.S.G.I. '03A4 bolts and went to work to recreate one of the most famous U.S. sniper rifles of World War 2.  They took these original receivers and bolts and refurbished them, and then built them into an exact copy of the 1903A4.  To do this they used a newly manufactured Criterion barrel, a new U.S.-made C-style stock, an exact copy of the original Redfield scope mounts, and a high-quality reproduction of the M73B1 scope by Hi-Lux Optics.  U.S. Armaments spent a great deal of time on each rifle fitting together all of the parts to make a great looking tribute with perfect headspace that functions flawlessly and shoots great.  Our understanding is that they only made a small batch of these rifles for a couple of years around 2013 so examples are few and far between.  This particular rifle has a Remington receiver serial number 3466997, and is in minty, like-new condition.  While we don't know if it is unfired since leaving the factory it certainly could pass as such.  We gauged the muzzle and throat on the newly manufactured Criterion-brand barrel and it measures less than "1", meaning there is no measurable wear or erosion in the barrel.  The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves and there is no pitting or visible imperfections whatsoever.  The gray parkerized finish is in excellent condition on all of the metal parts.  As you can see in the pictures, it has a very consistent pristine look to it which is very attractive.  The newly manufactured C-style Walnut stock is beautiful.  It shows some nice figure and grain showing in it, and it is perfectly shaped and finished.  The handguard and stock is matched near perfectly, and both pieces are free from any wear, cracks, scratches, chips, or repairs.  U.S. Armaments did a superb job mounting the scope on this '03A4.  The reproduction Redfield scope mount is perfectly mounted on the receiver and square to the bore axis.  They chose the Hi-Lux brand reproduction M73B1 scope for their tribute rifle, which is well-known in the collecting and shooting community as being one of the best repros out there.  It is a near exact copy of the original but with brighter and clearer optics than the original, as well as a self-centering reticle with more adjustment range for elevation and windage.  Hi-Lux markets the scope as their Model M73G4 which retails for over $350 by itself.  The Hi-Lux scope on this rifle is in like-new condition with perfect optics and perfect original blued finish.  The mechanics of this Remington 1903A4 are just as pristine as the exterior.  All of the controls are 100% fully functional and the action is smooth when worked by hand.  The bolt turns into battery perfectly with no slop, and the trigger is exceptional, breaking with a light pull with no grittiness or excessive travel.  This rifle should shoot lights-out like the day it left the factory.  This '03A4 comes with a Turner Saddlery U.S.G.I. M1907 pattern leather sling in excellent condition.  If you are into vintage rifle matches or have always wanted an example of the famous 1903A4 WW2 U.S. sniping rifle for your collection that you can shoot without spending a small fortune, this U.S. Armaments '03A4 tribute rifle would be the perfect choice.  Priced at $1195 this rifle is really a bargain, and it should end up being a great long-term investment piece as the price of originals continues to climb further out of reach from most buyers.
