Description:
Winchester Model 1873 .38-40 "Third Model" with correct "Step Down Receiver". The serial number of this example is 353656 placing date of manufacture in 1890-91. Overall condition is excellent with 90-95% of the original factory rust blue finish. The Factory Octagon Barrel is the standard 24 inches. The bore is near perfect with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. I will rate the bore an 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. Case Colors remain on lever and hammer. Case Colors are brilliant in protected areas. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. . Correct period Tang Sight.
