Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this fine example of the "other" classic double made in Meriden, Connecticut. Home of Parker Brothers, across town was Meriden Firearms. Known for low prices, they also produced some high grade guns, often using the same engravers as Parker. This is the grade 58, near the top of what was offered, selling at Sears for about 39 dollars. Complete with highly figured and checkered walnut, fine engraving, and chain Damascus barrels, it was quite a bargain. This one, a little over a hundred years old, is in fairly good shape. The wood and steel have a few scrapes and handling marks, probably from putting meat on the table. She locks up tight, and the lever resides at about center. The bores of the 30 inch tubes are very good. They are both choked old school, full and full. The drops are 1 5/8 and 3 inches, and the LOP to the factory horn butt plate is 14 inches. She is a pleasure to carry and point, and the chain Damascus is more striking than the photos suggest. If you have been looking for the right Meriden to collect or for investment, and want a high grade with showy barrels, then look no further.
