This is a beautiful Korean War era Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand that is 100% correct and all-original. This rifle comes with the original C.M.P. paperwork dated January 20, 2011. The M1 Garand is one of the finest semi-auto battle rifles ever made. The semi-automatic gas-operated action chambered in the powerful .30-06 Springfield cartridge proved to be reliable and tough during WW2, and the firepower that it gave our troops gave us a decided advantage in both WW2 and the Korean War. This particular rifle is one of the more attractive M1 Garands we have seen in a while by any manufacturer. The original Parkerized finish is all a nice matching gray/green color and shows very minor wear. As you can see in the pictures, the finish is consistent throughout the rifle and it is obvious that all of the parts have been together on this rifle since it left the factory. The original stock on this M1 Garand has a beautiful dark reddish-brown stock with a nice and clear DOD eagle and circle "P" cartouche. The stock and handguard are a perfect match, and all of the stock pieces are in excellent condition and free from any cracks or repairs. All of the stock hardware is intact and in excellent condition. The bore in this Garand is in excellent condition. We gauged the barrel and it measured a "2" at the throat and a "2" at the muzzle, which indicates this rifle has been shot very little and has been well cared-for. The rifling still looks nice and sharp and there is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible. All of the controls on this M1 Garand are in perfect working order. The rifle comes complete with an original Korean War erasling attached to it and 4 empty 8-round en-bloc clips.. We have no doubt that this H&R M1 Garand would be a great shooter as well as an excellent long-term investment. If you have been looking for a "collector grade" M1 Garand for your collection it would be nearly impossible to find an all-original gun in better condition than this beautiful H&R example.
