Description:
Ohio “Kentucky” Long Rifle by C. Beck of Hamilton County, Ohio, Circa 1840’s. .48 Caliber, 43 ¾” octagonal smoothbore barrel on full length tiger maple stock, top of barrel marked, “C. BECK”. Lockplate stamped “Partridge” with scroll engraving, brass mounted with double set triggers. Later replacement wooden ramrod. Excellent condition overall with crisp marking on lockplate, stock is very good with a small repair on right side above lockplate just forward of grip. Mechanically sound with lock & triggers functioning correctly. Christian Beck (1813-1886) was part of the long line of gun makers in the Beck Family which was heavily active in both the flintlock & percussion eras dating back to Pre-Revolutionary War.
